Immigrants and jobs

Another stupid one in the press today - 1000 jobs go to immigrants when brits/english are looking for jobs. they may be looking for jobs but they certainly dont want to work.

It was when I came to this country i realised that job descriptions were actually used by people to limit the scope of their work. I was appalled to realise that most people in offices took their lunch break so seriously - an hour everyday. This was a regime that was both unfamiliar and degrading for me. I thought getting a job was about getting results, not counting minutes till it was time to go home.

true, you have people like that everywhere. People who are below a certain level - blue collar unionised staff who need to fight for their rights in groups - would tend to behave in this manner everywhere. I understand that. But even within that time, teams here would quote effort, not results. Sorry dear, it does not matter if the job took you ten hours - did it get done? If not, next time I hire, i'll find an immigrant who can get it done and sooner than you.

Same goes for my builders....this is the first and last time i work with an English team. Its immigrants for me each time now!
